Tell yourself the truth, and your life will change.

Stop lying to yourself. Make telling the truth a must.
“I will start on Monday.”
“I will do it later.”
“Tomorrow, I will respect my lunchtime.”
“I will start meditating.”
“I will eat fast food only today.”
So many good intentions, and in fact, you are just getting your brain used to lies.
Approaching life with an adult mindset brings clarity and simplifies everything. What if, instead of saying I don’t have time to exercise, you are honest and tell the truth, “I am not prioritizing my health right now.”. The truth will set you free.
It sounds so simple, and in fact, it is. See it as it is, not better, nor worse, and from this space, you can get your power back and change, if you choose to.
As adults, we can deal with the consequences of our choices, and sometimes the choice is to define which loss we prefer. It is part of the human journey.
Recently, I had an executive client who received a C-level job offer. For sure, he wanted the job, and like everything in life, it had its pros and cons. There are so many items to be considered in a job offer besides the title. He gave it some thought and decided to give his resignation and accept this opportunity. Two weeks later, he received another offer, bringing a totally new scenario to his equation. It was tough for him to evaluate and decide; he had core values in conflict. He values growth (which he would have more of by accepting the second offer), and he values his word (he had already accepted the first offer). In this case, even if the move was for the better, he had to make the challenging decision between compromising his growth or not to keep his word.
I know that regardless of his choice, the main work was to make it right after. He would have wins and challenges in any position he goes; that’s part of life. His ability to have his back will confirm that it was the best decision, shaping his success in his new endeavour.
