Certainty Is an Inside Job - The Feeling You Seek Isn’t Out There
June 23, 2025 · 2 min read
I love certainty. I love clarity. Even if I know none is real.
In 2021, I heard from my coach, “Certainty is an inside job.”.
At the time, I could not understand how powerful this statement was.
Fast forward to 2025, I am 100% onboard with it, and I can even say that this statement changed my life.
It goes way beyond certainty.
-
“Freedom is an inside job.”
-
“Abundance is an inside job.”
-
“Security is an inside job.”
You can add to this phrase any noun you want; it will be an inside job.
Last week, I was in a session with a client looking to create a financial reserve of 6 months.
When I asked her what would be different when she achieves it, she mentioned that she will feel reassured.
The intention was good; however, the reality is that she was just setting herself up to fail.
It is an illusion that any external thing could reassure her. Reassurance is an inside job.
The point is exactly the opposite: what can she do now that could help her feel reassured right now?
By flipping the order, she creates the feeling now, making it almost inevitable to achieve what she wants.
Becoming comes first. You become, then you have.
It’s a process of building a new identity, and it won’t happen overnight.
Stop outsourcing your power.
Stop seeking external validation or recognition.
No one can give you what you haven’t yet given yourself.
Now is your turn…
What feeling have you been outsourcing lately?
Pause and ask: If it came from within, what would change in how you act today?
Enjoy your clarity!
