Fear or Faith: You’re Imagining Both - So Choose Wisely

July 7, 2025 · 1 min read

Two doors side by side, one dim and labeled "Fear," the other sunlit and labeled "Faith."

My client was concerned that he might be laid off. It is justifiable; instead of denying what comes, let’s acknowledge and analyze it.

A key question to ask is, “Is this thought serving you?”.

From Fear, he began creating scenarios that impacted the way he was presenting himself, and if he didn’t change his approach, it might become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Bringing him back to the present moment, a place where he would be better suited to think clearly, what were the facts that could support his concern?

Exploring it, I asked, ‘Can you guarantee 100% that you will be laid off?’

His answer was no.

Then we moved to another scenario, if he goes from Faith and draws the best possible scenario. In this case, he was not part of the next round of layoffs.

I paused and asked again, ‘Can you guarantee 100% that you will not be laid off?’

His answer was again no.

Here is the truth: Fear and Faith are both mental constructs. Neither is real, and yet, the empowerment and control that come with choosing Faith are remarkable.

Knowing that, which one would you choose?

Practice choosing Faith, one decision at a time. You might be surprised by the results.

Choose wisely!
